Backwell swimmers back on the road again

Backwell Swimming Club members enjoyed another successful trip, this time at Cheddar in the Cotswold League.
Backwell Swimming Club were on the road again for Cotswold League round four.
This meant another drive down the M5 to Cheddar, in order to compete with Bristol Penguins, Wells and Dursley swimming clubs.
During another noisy evening of uninterrupted swimming, the team battled it out and swam fantastically, with lots of PBs and exhausted swimmers.
However, as the night went on and Backwell developed a lead, it did appear that the team has something else in mind other than a win and the associated league points.
As the event drew to an end and Backwell were ultimately awarded the win, it became clear that the post-match celebrations were a key factor for young and old.
As is customary in these parts, the team enjoyed their post-match splash, fully dressed in their team colours of course.
Special thanks go to Wells Swimming Club for a memorable evening, a lovely pool, with a special thanks to their lovely coffee shop.
Finally the club would also like to thank all the volunteer coaches, helpers and parents who dedicate their free time supporting our talented swimmers.
Swimming is a great inclusive sport, which helps individuals grow and improve themselves mentally and physically. At Backwell Swimming Club we actively encourage our swimmers to be the best that they can be, in both swimming and in life.
Backwell Swimming Club is made up of approximately 180 swimmers from the Backwell, Bristol, Nailsea and Portishead catchment areas. If you are interested in joining or supporting our Club please take a look at our website (www.backwellswimmingclub.com) or come along to the pool on a club night and have a chat with one of the club coaches or officials.
