Cleeve Cricket Club enjoyed a successful weekend, with two victories out of three matches.
In the first team's Bristol & District Division One clash against Bristol CC thirds, an all-round performance led to an 81-run triumph.
Openers Mitch Want and Glenn Lewin posted half-centuries, scoring 52 and 68 respectively, to set the tone for the home side.
Their efforts were backed up by James Cole, Joe Hance, Alex Soch, and Alfie Parsons.
The latter ended the innings unbeaten on 26, helping Cleeve reach 242 all out in the 40th over.
In response, Bristol struggled to gain any momentum.
Cleeve’s Jack Spiers made an early breakthrough, dismissing O’Dair for six.
This was followed by a brace of wickets from Hance, who was playing his first league game of the season.
Want also chipped in with two wickets, while paceman Cam Elswood wrapped up the innings with a sharp spell, claiming four wickets in just over five overs.
Bristol were all out for 161 in the 26th over, securing a comfortable win for Cleeve.
The firsts will look to continue their winning streak on Saturday, June 6, when they travel to Keynsham.
However, the second team were not as fortunate in their Bristol & District Seventh Division West match against Bishopston fourths.
Despite a strong start, they fell short by 28 runs.
Captain Ellis Turner won the toss and elected to field, a decision that initially seemed to pay off as Bishopston were restricted to 157 in the 33rd over.
Turner was the pick of the bowlers, claiming three wickets for 36 runs.
He was supported by Tom Redding, Alex Grubb, Robbie Wilsher, and Sam Tuck.
However, the batting line-up failed to make any meaningful partnerships, with only Charlie Grubb, Wilsher, and Turner himself managing double figures.
Cleeve were all out in the 32nd over for 129.
They will be hoping to bounce back next week when they host Shirehampton seconds.
The Sunday XI had a more successful outing in the Sunday Conference Division 30 against Whitchurch Wanders.
Chasing 147, they secured a seven-wicket victory inside 26 overs.
Their bowling attack proved effective, with Ben Payne, Sam Tuck, and K Koshy taking three, three, and two wickets respectively.
In the chase, Alfie Parsons top-scored with 32, while Cam Elswood, Wilsher, and Beadle also contributed valuable runs to guide their team to victory.
