Nailsea & Tickenham Swags claimed a significant 2-1 away win against Ilfracombe Town.
The contest, reminiscent of the tight encounters from last season, saw the Swags overcoming challenges to persist to victory.
The proceeding match left much to be desired as Andy Head made an appearance in the team, along with James Seeley, who returned to the starting 11 from last week's FA cup triumph.
Injuries marred the Swags first half, with Luke Osgood and Charlie Saunders unable to continue due to a head injury and bruised ribs, respectively.
New sign-ons, Shea Mannings and Seb Scott were given an opportunity with unanticipated early-turn on field.
Ilfracombe started the scoring with a deft 1-0, which was soon equated with an impressive strike by Lucas Vowles.
The teams seemed to be in a deadlock at half-time, standing at 1-1.
The second part of the session saw more vigor from the Swags with Shea Mannings and Vowles creating commendable attempts at the goal.
The deciding goal was orchestrated by Tyler Mannings releasing Lucas Vowles, whose immaculate cross was met by Shea Mannings, aided by the lapsed defense of the keeper.
Andy Head's injury led to another reshuffle with Harry Walker joinging the field, alongside the coming back Jack Fillingham.
Fillingham nearly widened the lead, however, saw his attempt tipped wide by Ilfracombe's keeper.
The match concluded with a much-earned victory for the Swags.
Lucas Vowles was heralded as the Bedrock Construction Man of the Match.
Joint manager, Jamie Smith, said: "The main thing was the three points today and I felt we deserved them. Unfortunately we did pick up a few injuries but it does show the strength of the squad this season compared to last."
