A rugby club celebrated its ten year anniversary with a tournament and afterparty last weekend.
Nailsea Touch Rugby Club hosted the event off the back of two impressive Bristol league wins in July.
The club hosted eight teams and over 100 players in the mixed tournament.
Nailsea left no stone unturned, ensuring the pitches were immaculately cut for the first games which commenced at 11am.
The rain stayed away and late sunshine warmed a steadily increasing crowd of spectators, who enjoyed the game pitchside or from the club's new balcony.
The matches were vigorous and competitive.
Specialist Touch team, Bristol Jets, clinched first place.
Hosts Nailsea Touch secured a commendable second, while Cranleigh finished third.
Celebrations continued into the night, with dinner provided for players and supporters, and live entertainment laid on courtesy of Corvus.
Chairman Joe Swanson said: "I’m so proud of how the whole rugby club got behind this event, from the two sides from our senior rugby section to our groundsman and bar staff and an army of volunteers.
"This was a showpiece event and we wanted to provide visiting teams with a great experience and a warm welcome.
"The feedback has been brilliant and we are looking to hold the event annually and grow it in future years – it was a wonderful way to celebrate our 10th anniversary."
Nailsea Touch is actively seeking new members, particularly ladies and juniors.
Training takes place on Thursdays and Fridays from 7pm, league matches are played on Mondays in Bristol, and a number of National events are entered across the season.
The club has England Touch Association-qualified coaches and referees as well as player representation at both Regional and National levels.
