Despite an impressive 102 from Redcliffe's Ian Bush, Cleeve secured victory against St Mary Redcliffe 2nds and confirmed their promotion as Division 8 West Champions.

Demonstrating an all-round team performance, Cleeve took the game with two wickets in hand and an over to spare, thus sealing the title with two games remaining.

Bowling first, Cleeve's opening pair, Tom Redding and Will Grubb were formidable, causing Redcliffe to score primarily behind square.

Breakthrough arrived in the 10th over when Grubb took out Mayard and soon followed with Brown's dismissal, putting the score at 39-2.

Even though Redcliffe were only on 60 runs at the 20-over mark, Bush geared up for an attacking innings.

However, his strong knock came to an end on the final ball of Redcliffe's innings, culminating in a 217-5 score.

Redcliffe's total was challenged by the Cleeve squad, who started their batting with determination.

Losing Dan Dixon for 16 and Will Grubb for 34 early on didn't deter them.

More wickets fell briskly with Robbie Wilsher and Stuart Williams adding a mere 6 to the collective score.

Charlie Grubb's 31 and Alex Grubb and Turner's calm heads proved decisive to take Cleeve across the finish line.

With nearest rivals, Old Cathedralians, suffering a defeat, Cleeve was officially crowned as Champions, marking the end of an undoubtedly triumphant season.

Amidst the joyous occasion, Cleeve captain, George Parsons, expressed immense pride as he prepared for his impending retirement from the role.
