Nailsea and District Croquet Club (NDCC) recently played away at Bristol Croquet Club this week for a fixture in the Croquet Federation Tournament.
The match contained some very closely contested games but best of seven series was finally won by Nailsea with a score of 4-3.
Special mention goes to Brian Roynon and Libby Howard-Blood who won the morning doubles, and then both also won their afternoon singles games to help the squad on their way to the four wins.
There are commiserations to Captain Graham McCausland who narrowly lost both his games by one and two hoops respectively, and thanks to Rob Royffe who gave Nailsea the overall victory with a win in the afternoon, after losing his morning singles.
Every player said that they enjoyed the day out and for once the weather was fair all day for the croquet, with the sun shining and no rain.
McCausland said, “It was great that Nailsea is continuing its winning streak, and we hope that continues.”
