Clevedon Promenade Bowling Club’s Ladies teams reached their 70th anniversary this weekend.
Members of the Promenade club were joined by players from clubs around the county in celebrating the impressive milestone.
A spokesperson from the Clevedon Club said: “On a warm sunny afternoon, the Promenade Ladies celebrated their 70th anniversary with a game of bowls and a cream tea afterwards.
“Joining us were clubs from Clevedon, Clarence, Long Ashton, Nailsea, Portishead, West Backwell, St Andrews, Congresbury and Yatton. A great afternoon was had by all.”
Along with the celebrations it was also a busy week on the green for Promenade as they played six games and managed to win four of them.
Most important of the wins was a close 59-57 victory over Yatton in the County League for the Promenade C team, as the rink of Tinkling, Cordwell, Davis, and Hampton top scored for the club by winning their match 26-14.
Elsewhere during the week the Over 55s beat Clevedon in the Triples League and also beat Winscombe in the Weston KO Cup, whilst the Evening League squad triumphed over Nailsea 90-88.
