Clevedon Promenade’s men and women were both in action on the bowling green this week, with the women competing in the North Somerset Triples whilst the men had games in three different leagues.

In their North Somerset Triples match the Promenade Ladies were narrowly beaten by West Backwell 39-45.

Sandra Sharp's rink of C Fuidge, B Young, and S Farnden won by 14 shots whilst Lesley Fitzpatrick achieved a 16-16 draw.

Meanwhile, the Prom Men had mixed results throughout the week.

First up was a convincing win at West Backwell 92-56 in the Clevedon and District Evening League.

John Bartlett and his team of K Hill, D Evans, and P Fuidge achieved a 26 positive shot difference by winning their match 31-5.

Disappointingly in the Clevedon and District Over 55s Promenade came off second best as Isle of Wedmore were victorious by 22 points at 79- 101, with Chris Crees’ team fairing the best by winning their rink by 5 shots.

Even closer was the Men's Double Rink where Clarence edged the match by one shot to win 36-37.

Marin Davis' team’s 20-17 win was offset by the Prom's second rink suffering a four shot deficit.
