Counties 1 Tribute Western North: Clevedon 12-32 Midsomer Norton

Clevedon RFC were beaten in a tough match at home at the weekend by a strong Midsomer Norton side.

The match in the Counties 1 Tribute Western North division finished 12-32 in favour of the visiting Midsomer Norton.

The result sees Clevedon remain in ninth place in the league while Midsomer move up to seventh.

In the match the visitors were on the front foot early when they crossed for the opening try in just the fourth minute.

From there, Midsomer Norton maintained control and had built the score up to 0-22 by the half time break.

In the second period they extended the lead with another converted try but Clevedon weren't ready to lie down just yet.

The hosts scored a converted try on 54 minutes and a second on 68 minutes to bring it back to 14-27.

However the away team had the last say with a final unconverted try towards the end of the match.

Elsewhere, Matthew Mannion put in a solid showing for Clevedon Seconds in their defeat against Midsomer Norton Seconds.
