Counties 1 Tribute Western North: Nailsea & Backwell 15-23 Midsomer Norton
Nailsea & Backwell RFC were beaten at home at the weekend in a tight battle with Midsomer Norton.
Whilst it was disappointing to be beaten, Nailsea were celebrating a milestone appearance for stalwart Jamie Sullivan.
The club said: "Huge congratulations to Jamie Sullivan, who this weekend will make his 250th First Team appearance for the club!
"An absolutely fantastic achievement and a big thank you Jamie from all at the club."
In the match itself, the visitors opened the scoring in the second minute as Matthew Edgell crossed for a try converted by Hugh Jeffery.
They went further in front when Robert Viol went over for an unconverted try.
Joe Collins replied for Nailsea on the 20 minute mark with the hosts first score of the match.
However as the match went on, Midsomer Norton took their lead to 5-23 and looked in control.
Two late tries, both unconverted, for Nailsea through Declan Hay and Ben Perfect game the home team some hope but it wasn't to be.
