Counties 1 Tribute Western North: Longlevens 41-12 Nailsea & Backwell
Nailsea & Backwell RFC were on the receiving end of a heavy defeat at the weekend away from home against Longlevens.
The match was a top of the table clash in the Counties One Tribute Western North division and Longlevens' win puts them on top with 74 league points while Nailsea & Backwell sit in second place now, on 68 points.
It was a feisty affair as both sides felt the importance of the match and while the two teams played good rugby in parts, it was the hosts who had the better day.
Tries for the visitors came from Jamie Sullivan and Benjamin Perfect, either side of half time with Alexander Jones scoring one conversion.
Nailsea & Backwell are still very much in the chase for the league title though and will look to bounce back next weekend.
They return for a home match on Saturday, February 3 against Midsomer Norton who currently sit in eighth place.
