Western League Division One: Bristol Telephones 0-4 Portishead Town

Portishead extended their lead at the top of the league table with a well deserved victory away at Bristol Telephones on Saturday.

In a physical battle it was a tight first half with few clear cut chances. The breakthrough came mid way through the half when striker Ethan Feltham was brought down in the area and from the resulting penalty Kyle Egan calmly converted.

Telephones worked hard to restrict Portishead and made it to half time with the score at 1-0.

As Telephones began to tire posset took full advantage. The lead was doubled in the second half when Mitch Osmond’s free kick from 25 yards out somehow squirmed through the keeper’s hands and into the back of the net.

Substitute Luke Hall-Cousins, a recent signing, created the third when, after winning the ball back in midfield, he burst through two tackles before setting up Egan for his second of the afternoon.

The scoring was completed shortly after when Ethan Feltham burst past the last defender, just inside the Telephones half, and sped towards goal, as the keeper came out Feltham expertly put it past him and into the bottom corner.

Posset will be pleased to be back to winning ways, and with their nearest rivals, Radstock, dropping points their lead has increased to 6 points. Next up Portishead welcome Wincanton Town to Bristol Road on Saturday.
