Toolstation Western League: Millbrook 0-2 Nailsea and Tickenham

The Swags made it back to back wins in the Toolstation Western League Premier Division on Saturday as they travelled south to play Millbrook writes Paul Harnden.

They welcomed back Lloyd Mills from suspension, and Ryan Gissing made his first start in several weeks after returning from a long term injury.

The visitors found some momentum in the game and applied a period of sustained pressure, several corners and high pressing leading to Millbrook mistakes, which Miles Hardidge punished after firing in an Oliver Carter cross to make it 1-0, his first goal for the club.

With the Swags now firmly on top and creating lots of chances, Luke Osgood made it 2-0 after a conrer was not cleared and he was first to react in the box, striking in with his left foot from inside the box.

The back three of Hamish Hurst, Ryan Gissing and Joe Bishop were shutting out any Millbrook attack as the Swags looked to increase the lead further.

They had a great chance just before the half as Lucas Vowles was fouled just inside the box. Vowles stepped up to take the resulting penalty but saw his effort saved, and the score remained 2-0 at half time.

In the second period it was more of the same as Millbrook pushed forward but Nailsea held firm and defended well. There was no further score and the match ended 0-2.
