Division One South West: Portishead Town 2-3 Keynsham Town

Portishead came into the game on the back of two important away victories and were hopeful of gaining revenge over Keynsham, who beat Town 7-1 earlier in the season.

The hosts started on the front foot and were looking dangerous early on as they probed for an opener.

Against the run of play however it was Keynsham that took the lead, when a long ball forward beat the offside trap and the visitor's forward won the race to the ball and finished.

Keynsham led at half time but within minutes of the restart the game had been turned on its head.

Firstly Portishead were awarded a penalty when some concerted posset pressure resulted in a shot that was only stopped by the arm of a defender. The resulting penalty was dispatched by Stella Gandee Morgan, despite the best efforts of the Keynsham keeper.

Just minutes later Portishead had the lead, a quickly taken corner was played in by Alanna Torrington and it fell to Emily Lindsay who turned it home.

Portishead continued to make chances and Ellie Brindley and substitute Annys Turner both went close to extending the lead.

Against the run of play though Keynsham brought themselves level and as time ticked away they won themselves a corner. The corner wasn't dealt with and it was turned home to give Keynsham the win and devastate posset.

Next up for Portishead they welcome Bridgwater United to Bristol Road next Sunday in the SomersetFA County Cup.
