Division One South West: Abingdon United 1-2 Portishead Town
Portishead Town Ladies FC's first team earned a very solid win away from home against Abingdon United at the weekend.
They came from behind to win the match 1-2 in the FA Women's National League Division One South West and they now sit in ninth place on the table.
A spokesperson from the club said: "Fantastic 3 points on the road as we beat Abingdon United Women's FC 2-1.
"Fighting back from a goal down, Tamzin Hayward equalised before Stella Gandee Morgan grabbed the winner from the spot. Happy journey home."
Elsewhere, the Portishead Ladies reserves were in action as they lost against a very strong Yeovil Town side.
The match ended 6-1 to the home side in what was chilly conditions in Somerton and the Yeovil side had heavily recruited from the higher divisions.
The club said afterwards: "A quality opposition, but the scoreline didn’t reflect today’s efforts, and the Reserves, especially POTM Lauren Toms, left the pitch with their heads held high. Bring on the home leg!"
