Ethan Feltham's hat-trick wasn't enough for Portishead Town as they fell to their first defeat in 22 Toolstation Western League Division One games after a 4-3 defeat against Cribbs Reserves on Boxing Day.

This game was dedicated to the memory of Ollie Hatfield, who made a record 323 Toolstation Western League appearances for Posset between 2005 and 2019.

Portishead got off to a quick start through Feltham, who followed up a shot and smashed the ball top right corner against the defender to make it 1-0.

Just five minutes later Feltham doubled the lead for Portishead after he beat his defender in the air to head the ball home and it looked to be a comfortable day at Bristol Road.

However, Cribbs found a way back into the game in the 40th minute through a pass across goal to Liam Clayton, who scored with ease. In the last minute of the half, Cribbs scored at the perfect time following a cross to the back post which was headed in by Steven John to make it 2-2 heading into the break.

Cribbs started the second half strong and found their third goal of the game through John

Portishead pushed for the equaliser throughout the rest of the half but were caught on the break and John scored a deflected shot to make it 4-2. However, five minutes later, substitute Jack Harper played a brilliant ball to the back post to find Feltham who headed it home for his extremely impressive seventh treble of the season, across all competitions and his 38th goal in 22 games.

Unfortunately, this goal came too little, too late and Cribbs just about managed to see off the game 4-3.

Despite defeat Portishead are four points clear of second placed Radstock Town, with a game in hand.

Portishead return to action at Shirehampton on Saturday and will be looking to bounce back with three points.
