William Robinson has big ambitions to reach the very top of Motorsport.

The eight-year-old's aim has always been to be a racing driver and reach the heights of Formula One.

Robinson's journey into the world of racing started in March 2022 when he was six and all he’s ever wanted to do is race!

He is currently racing in the UK’s Premier Electric Karting Series, Global Karting League (GKL), formerly known as Total Karting Zero (TKZ) founded by F1 legend Rob Smedley.

Williams’ passion, aptitude and ability to perform on track were demonstrated from the day he got in a kart!

In just 19 drives over an 18-month period, William has 11 trophies, including the TKZ Bambino National Vice Champion 2022 in his rookie season, third place in the 2022/23 TKZ Bambino National Winter Championship, vice-champion in both the TKZ Bambino Southern Regional and GKL:UK Bambino National this year.

Robinson doesn’t have his own kart, so only gets very limited practice between his races; he doesn’t have a simulator either, so with just 19 drives under his belt, his performance and achievements are perhaps even more impressive!

He drives with passion and determination and has a real drive to succeed and continue to improve and one whose full potential is not yet fully realised.

His next step is to progress to the Cadet Category within GKL:UK for the 2024 National Championship in March, with the new second-generation electric, faster karts.

Based on his one and only trial in a cadet kart, his ability to control the extra power and adapt to its handling was very impressive, evidenced by his lap times. Robinson has not only kept up with older and far more experienced cadet drivers, up to age 12, but he also outperformed most of them with his lap times!

Robinson’s achievements are impressive at such a young age and his talent is widely recognised on track by current and former Junior and Senior racing Champions.

“He’s been awesome all year and thoroughly deserves every single success he’s had," Alex Doddington, Cadet Champion Ellough Park 2017 and top 10 MSUK driver multiple times, said.

"All the best for next season, I know he’s going to smash it."
