Nailsea & Tickenham threw away a 2-0 goal lead as they were held to a 3-3 draw with Ilfracombe Town in the Toolstation Western League Premier last Saturday.

The Swags and Ilfracombe were level on points, and the game did not disappoint with six goals and some end to end football as Oscar Pearce made his debut and Harry Pruett returned from injury.

Nailsea & Tickenham took the lead through Lloyd Mills, who finished from close range, after five minutes.

A dominant start continued with Luke Osgood finding space on the right, before he cut inside and produced an excellent left-footed finish to make it 2-0.

Ilfracombe got back into the game after neat play down the right could not be defended as Blake Shapland to make the score 2-1.

Then with five minutes until half-time, Jason Mellor looked to have caught a high ball but Dan Wilson headed it out of Mellor’s hands, and much to the astonishment of the majority, no foul was given and the score was 2-2 at the break.

Ilfracombe took their next chance when Jack Magarotto made it 3-2 with 20 minutes remaining.

However, Nailsea & Tickenham grabbed a well-deserved equaliser from Mills, after good control and a superb right-footed volley ensured both sides had a share of the spoils.
