Nailsea & Tickenham captain Joe Berry has left the club to sign for Portishead Town.

Berry leaves after nine years and 137 goals in 172 games and helped lead the Swags to successive promotions from the Uhlsport Somerset County League Premier to the Toolstation Western League Premier.

In a statement published on Twitter, Nailsea & Tickenham posted: "We can confirm the club and Joe Berry have agreed to part ways. Joe will be moving on to play more locally with Portishead. We’d like to thank him for being a massive part of the team who achieved back to back promotions and Cup Wins! All the best Bez! Once a Swag always a Swag!"

Portishead Town added: "Forward Joe Berry has agreed to join Portishead from Nailsea & Tickenham. The N&T former captain scored a very impressive 137 goals in 172 games over 9 seasons. Great to have a player of this quality join our project. Welcome to Portishead Joe."

Berry continued: "Looking forward to a fresh challenge and hopefully plenty more goals."
