Yatwell under-16s were knocked out of Somerset Cup after a a fantastic game of competitive rugby by Gordano 17-7 in the second round last Sunday.

Yatwell, having successfully seen off Hornets in the first round, went behind when Gordano's scrum-half picked up the ball up, following a scrum just outside the Yatwell 22, and he played a lovely pass inside for the first try.

A short time later, Gordano took advantage of what a number of Yatwell players thought was a knock on and stopped playing to add a second.

With just over 20 minutes gone and just inside their own half, another successful Yatwell scrum saw Ned Hill pick the ball up and go tearing up the pitch through the defenders to take it well into the 22.

When a desperate tackle halted his run, a terrific off-load to fly-half Charlie Hayett saw him sprint the rest of the way and score under the posts to claw one back to make it 14-7 at half-time.

Into the second half, and with the advantage of the slope, Gordano won a penalty and took the decision to kick all three points and seal progression into the next round.
