West Backwell Bowls Club ended the end of their season with a celebration dinner at the Masonic Hall in Nailsea recently.
Competition secretaries Gordon and Frances Ogden worked really hard to get the Cups and trophies ready for the presentation to hand to all the winners, and certificates to finalists.
Julie Ratcliffe and Adam Knights were awarded single champions while other singles competitions were won by Sheila Claxton, Adam Shaw, May Vivian, Lynn Pearson, Bob Keightley and Gordon Ogden.
There were ladies’, men’s & mixed Pairs, Triples and Fours competitions, with several new members being in winning teams while Emma Price was the well-deserved clubperson of the year.
Price has masterminded West Backwell's Thrive with Bowls campaign, which has brought in a lot of new members, and acquired grants and sponsors.
West Backwell will end the year with their popular Holly and Mistletoe event on the morning of Saturday December 16.
