Lucy Ashman has been selected to take part in the tour of Sri Lanka with Somerset Pathway under-15s Boys and Girls teams between February 7 and 19 next year.
A fast bowler, Ashman, 14, has been involved in the Somerset Pathway for the past three years and has played for Claverham (Yatton) CC since she was 8 years old in the girls and mixed teams.
This season the teenager has represented the junior, women’s and senior teams and the highlight of her 2023 season was taking five wickets in six balls, which helped Claverham under-16s to the Somerset Cup semi-finals.
Jon Watts, Claverham CC club captain, said “the club is immensely proud of Lucy. Being selected for the tour is a great reward for Lucy’s hard work and focus on developing her game. We are excited to see what Lucy can achieve in the future.”
Cashman's mum Jo added: "We are so excited for Lucy. She loves her cricket and this is a once in a lifetime opportunity for her.”
