Portishead Ladies progressed to the first round proper of the Women's FA Cup after a comprehensive victory against United Services Portsmouth.

Posset started brightly and two quick fire goals from Stella Gandee Morgan and Tamzin Hayward gave them the perfect start.

Our visitors pulled one back from distance but Shannon Holloway converted from close range to send Town in 3-1 up at half time.

In the second half, goals from Annys Turner, Alanna Torrington, Shannon Holloway, Tamzin Hayward and Ruby Hopkins all scored to take the final score to 9-1.

Portishead will play Bristol Rovers Women in the First Round, with the tie due to be played on Sunday 12th November.

For the men, they exited the FA Vase in the First Round after falling to defeat against Premier Division Saltash United.

Posset began the match slowly and were a little passive against Saltash and fell behind to an early goal. A soft penalty gave United the opportunity to double their lead, which they duly took.

Despite defeat there are a number of positives to take from the game; never overawed by their higher league opponents Town were always in the contest and the introduction of 17 year olds Jake Packham and Charlie Williams from the bench shows that the future is bright for Portishead.
