Nailsea 2 v Knowle 2

Nailsea Ladies Hockey had a determined fight from the whistle in their match against Knowle at the weekend.

They scored first from a Harriet cross to Hannah who slotted passed keeper however a body ball in the goal mouth gave Knowle a Penalty, which they converted which made the score at half time 1-1.

In the second period, Nailsea again came out strong and determined and were rewarded with a well earned goal when Bernie dived and knocked the ball over the line.

Knowle fought back and after several vital saves from player of the match Laura Waines-Pople they were able to pull the score level.

Eleanor Hobbs and Maisy Hole played the ball well in midfield before Knowle broke through the defence and had a second chance of a penalty stroke.

Unable to convert this time Nailsea upped the tempo and now running on adrenalin alone, kept the ball out of their D.

All in all it was an amazing performance from Nailsea to keep the league leaders at a draw.
