Counties 1 Tribute Western North: Old Bristolians 25-27 Clevedon
Clevedon Rugby Football Club picked up a narrow win over Old Bristolians at the weekend in the Counties 1 Tribute Western North division.
In the match, Clevedon were victorious 25-27 away from home and move up to sixth place in the league table.
Old Bristolians were in control of the match early on, building up a 10-0 lead from a converted try and a penalty goal.
However in the 17th minute Ethan Thomas converted a penalty to put Clevedon on the board.
The home side went further in front soon after from a second try but Clevedon scored their first of the day in the 34th minute as Brian Largenton crossed over for a converted try.
At halftime the score was 18-10 in favour of the hosts. Thomas scored and converted his own try in the 44th minute to bring it back to 18-17.
And Clevedon took the lead in the 66th minute through an Edd Ryder try which was converted by Joel Giltrow.
Two minutes later the hosts were back in front with a try of their own, 25-24. It looked as though that could be the end result but in the 80th minute Thomas stepped up to slot a penalty which won the game for Clevedon.
