There was a real buzz around Long Ashton Bowling Club as they once again hosted their Invitation Mixed Fours Tournament last Sunday.
This was the 28th year the annual event has been held and saw 24 teams of bowlers representing clubs from across Bristol and North Somerset areas compete. The fine weather contributed to a great atmosphere and some friendly but fierce competition.
The overall winners on the day were Baz Bowl and they were presented with the trophy by LA Chairman Malcolm Pemble.
It has been quite a year for Long Ashton Bowling Club, which saw an encouraging influx of new players for the start of this season.
On the Green, the ladies finished top of the table in their first season in the Bristol league, winning promotion to Division Two.
Meanwhile the men won their last game of the season to consolidate their position in the top flight of the Bristol & District league.
