West Backwell Bowls Club held their Frank Harvey Fours day competition recently.
A total of two groups of four teams took part in the event, with the winners of each group playing the final.
In the end the winners were Julie Ratcliffe, skip Cynthia Burgess, Competition Secretary Gordon Ogden and newcomer Chris Pine.
The finalists were Derick Mercer, Shireen Matley, Anna Thomas and skip Burt Budd.
West Backwell’s John Couch, with Liz and Carol from Long Ashton Bowling Club, won the Clevedon Prom Open Triples.
West Backwell hosted the annual Somerset Patrons Match v City & County of Bristol.
After a number of years, Bristol
won this time and got their hands on the Frank Lacey Cup!
West Backwell are looking forward to Captains Day on Bank Holiday Monday.
The North Somerset club will turn host the traditional Men v Ladies match, a Fish and Chips supper in September, and then followed by Finals Weekend.
