Clevedon CC manager Paul Unwin said his side will look to end their final home game of their WEPL Prem 2 Bristol & Somerset season on a high.

Clevedon welcome Downend to Dial Hill this Saturday.

The previous meeting between the two sides saw Clevedon record their highest ever score after finishing on 426-7 to beat Downend by 256 runs in June.

“We had a great game against Downend last round and expect the same,” Unwin said.

“We will look to finish our last home game on a high and try to ensure the club supporters see us play well.”

Clevedon fell to their first defeat in five games (three wins and two cancellations) at table leaders Bishopston by 120 runs last Saturday.

And Unwin said despite being disappointed with the loss it doesn’t take away how well they have played this season.

“We were beaten by a better bowling unit on the day,” he added.

“They play to their strengths and thoroughly deserve to be at the top of the table.

“Whilst it is disappointing for us, we have had a fantastic season and have the desire to finish well in the last two games.”
