Nailsea Bowls Club held a mixed competition, which took place under cool skies, for their members to compete for in the Stansfield Trophy (plate) recently.

The trophy was provided by a previous club member with the aim of having a fun day and presenting the trophy to one lady and one man

To fulfil this wish Nailsea ran the competition and mixed it up with three sessions of six ends.  At the beginning of each end, the club drew rink cards which indicated their rink number, team and position and after every two ends rotated positions.

The game format was yard stick, three points to the nearest jack, two for second, and one for all remaining within a yard.

And it was Nailsea Lady President Trish Billington and organiser Phil Gillard who came away with victory.
