Clevedon Promenade Bowling Club, who are celebrating their 90th anniversary this year, are teaming up with the Clevedon Office of Wards, Solicitors to hold a Charity Fours event this month.
The competition is open to all non-bowlers who would like to try their hand at lawn green bowls and win money for their favourite charity.
Following on from a very successful Open Day, at the end of May, when over 65 people attended, Clevedon Prom are offering the opportunity to non-bowlers to play against other local social and business teams in a friendly, but competitive match, staged over four short games on Sunday, July 9 between the times of 9.15am to 4.45pm. All equipment will be provided, along with a short tuition session.
The event has already attracted the required entry of twelve teams, consisting of four players per team and the teams will compete for a first prize of £200, together with cash prizes for runners-up and third place. All prize money will be donated to the winners’ chosen charities.
The club are looking forward to this initiative and hope that all the competitors enjoy a great day of fun. Spectators, too, are welcome to come along - what better setting with the green and clubhouse being situated close to the sea front.
