Nailsea Seconds; poor start to Bristol & Distirct's Division 30 season continued after they were beaten by 25 runs against Whitchurch Fourths at The Grove last Saturday.

The visitors made first use of the wicket on a baking hot afternoon. Shaun Williams made the initial breakthrough for Nailsea, finishing with 1-22 and Adrian Procter (1-12-16) bowled economically.

With James Baber picking up 3-20, as well as effecting a run out and Kitt Drew-Wilkinson adding 1-20, Nailsea did well to restrict Whitchurch to 164-8 at the break.

In reply, Ryan Orr was in great form, as he rattled along to a fine 50, at which he retired. Procter added 15, but Whitchurch bowled well in the middle overs of the innings and with the asking rate increasing rapidly, the pressure built on the Nailsea batters.

Williams played well for his 32 and Henry Dickson added 10, but eventually Nailsea ran out of overs, finishing on 139-6 wickets.

This Saturday Nailsea Seconds travel to Lodway.
