As part of Cleeve CC's 75th Anniversary this year, the first team came away with victory against a Bristol & District Representative team at the King George V Playing Fields last Sunday.

Batting first, Cleeve recorded a solid score, posting 238 all out with captain Sam Williams picking up a superb century to finish on 117, including eight fours and four sixes.

Both Williams and Mitch Want (63) put on a partnership of 126 for the third wicket with Want's half-century consisting of seven fours and two sixes. The visitors saw Nick Beedell (4-36), Ash Barber (2-31) and George Rosen (2-34) all chip in with valuable wickets.

In reply, the Bristol & District side finished 55 runs short with Ash Barber recording a half-century to finish on 68, including 10 fours, and Javeed Khan 35.

All 11 Cleeve players. with wicketkeeper Tom Carpenter ditching the pads to claim impressive figures (4-36), while guest player Joe Palmer was in impressive form (3-6) and a wicket apiece for Ben Pinkney, Glenn Lewin and Alfie Parsons.
