Nailsea CC produced another excellent all-round performance to secure a convincing 170-run win against Clevedon Thirds to move second in Bristol & District's 10th Division last Saturday.

Nailsea got off to a solid start through Gary Phippen (8) and Ryan Orr (12), while Harry Welsman continued his good form with 34 and Zarweis Safi added 17 before he was caught by Oliver Jenkins.

Nailsea's Jack Smith made 32 and Gregg Howett hit 34 from 22, the platform was set for a good score.

David Wade (8), Max Davies (13) and captain James Taylor's brutal 43, combining well with Chris Clarke (14), took Nailsea to an imposing 242 all out from just 35 overs. For Clevedon, Josh Bray bowled well to finish with impressive figures (5-36-8).

Clevedon recorded a solid start through Bray (17) and Dan Carrington (24). David Wade took a hat-trick bowling Josh Banks and Billy Thomas for first ballers, as he took 3-13 from four pacey overs.

Captain Ian Harrington failed to trouble the scorers and the writing was on the wall for Clevedon. The introduction of spinners Ian Sherreard (2-12) and Safi (3-13) hastened the end, as both bowled beautifully to demolish the tail.

Max Davies picked up 1-2 from his only over, Clevedon could only muster 72 all out, earning Nailsea a full 20-point haul.

Nailsea travel to Stoke Bishop in their top of the table clash this Saturday.
