Clevedon Swimming Club had a wonderful time at the Swim England South West Regional Championships recently.

Swimmers aged from 11 upwards competed across three weekends in April and May, at pools in Millfield in Somerset, Plymouth in Devon and Hengrove in Bristol.

Clevedon had 19 qualifiers this season, a record for the club, and were well represented across all age groups from 10-years-old up to the 15 and over categories.

A total of 10 swimmers made the finals and the club were proud to see four medallists: Jamie Steadman picked up Gold for 50m breaststroke and Bronze in 1500m freestyle, while Sam Ledward, in 200m backstroke, Eva Crowe in 50m butterfly and Oscar Barlow in 200m all came away with Silver medals

"We've had a great month at Regionals and I'm very proud of our swimmers," Pat Leaman, head coach, said.

"It's tough to qualify for the Regional Championships so to have so many swimmers make the grade is fantastic. It shows the hard work and dedication our swimmers and volunteers put in."
