A total of 18 Clevedon AC runners travelled up to Birmingham on Saturday to take part in the Midlands Road Relays in Sutton Park recently.

 

First up was the Mens 12-Stage relay, consisting of four legs of 5.15 miles followed by eight shorter legs of 3.15 miles.

 

The team of Robbie Stewart (28.51), Sam Tabberner (29.06) Jack Richardson, (29.36), and Jonah Murray (29.54) conquered the long legs with the quartet finishing in a wonderful time of one hour, 57 minutes and 27 seconds.  

 

The team of Jack Last (17:14), Luke Eleanor (17:40) Mark Williams (17:55), Steve Wood (18:20), Martin Hewlett (19:08), Leo Packham (20:12), Alex Murray (19:46) and Kieran McManus (20:31) conquered the shorter distance and finished with an excellent time of two hours, 30 minutes and 46 seconds to finish in 19th out of 74 teams, a massive improvement from their 30th position last year.

 

The Ladies Six-Stage relay saw Polly Atherton (37.25), Jen Williams (23.40), Amy James (38.36), Helen Ball (23.50), Charlie Hurcum (22.47) and Beth Bryant (22.35) to finish in a superb time of two hours, 48 minutes and 53 seconds to finish in 24th out of 70 teams, an improvement one of one place in last year’s race.
