West Backwell Bowls Club have signed Parker’s Estate Agents as their principal partner and shirt sponsor ahead of the new season.

West Backwell is backed by a raft of local businesses, who are keen to support sport in the community with six key sponsors also on board to support events throughout the year.

Parker’s deal follows a link up last summer when they sponsored a Ladies Invitation Triples Event at the club.

Other key sponsors at Backwell are Marks Mobile Butchers, Willow Chiropractic, Nelly Homes and Gardens, Rocket Media, The Rising Sun and Sparkle Restore.

Backwell have also put in place plans for new kit, which will be revaled in time for the summer.

Andrew Simmonds, Director at Parker’s Estate Agents, said: “We are keen to support the return of community events in the village following the restrictions of the last few years during the Covid pandemic.

"The West Backwell Bowls Club is a wonderful asset to the whole area and is a great place where people are able to keep fit and socialise.

"We are involved in helping people buy and sell homes in the area – but it is assets like the bowls club that make it a great place to live.”

Grace Higgins, who is the first-ever woman chairman of the club, added: “We are delighted that Parkers Estate Agents have agreed to be our Principal Partner and shirt sponsor. And we are looking forward to unveiling our new kit - it is certainly unique!

“We are also grateful to the other local businesses who have leant us their support. It really makes a massive difference - its important to keep bowls thriving for the enjoyment of the village and surrounds. It’s great to see so many local businesses wanting to engage with the local community and at the same time support our club. It’s certainly an exciting time for the Club."

"I look forward to welcoming anyone to our Try Bowls Tuesday or Friday Club Night - both are weekly 6pm from April 18 onward, the bar is open and anyone can come along and give bowls a go - it really is great fun!  All you need is flat shoes to give bowls a go!”
