Clevedon Swimming Club’s head coach headed to Dubai recently as part of an elite group of Swim England coaches chosen to support Swim England swimmers in a week of training and competition.

Pat Leaman travelled to United Arab Emirates to support a group of 75 swimmers from clubs up and down the country who have been selected to take part in the Swim England DiSE programme.

The Diploma in Sporting Excellence (DiSE) is an industry-leading, two-year programme that aims to harmoniously combine the studies and high-performance training of athletes across each aquatic sport.

The programmes’ extensive alumni include many inspirational athletes such as Adam Peaty, Rebecca Adlington, Alice Dearing and Jessica-Jane Applegate.

Swim England Coaching said; “Huge congratulations to all of the coaches who have progressed through our pathway and gained selection for this prestigious programme.

"Thank you also to all of the clubs who have released their coaches to be able to support this programme - we’re sure it will be a fantastic learning experience and they will bring lots of great ideas back to home clubs.”
