North Somerset Athletics Club athletes continue to impress with another superb display at Cardiff Metropolitan University recently.

 

A total of nine memebrs claimed 11 medals and nine personal bests on day one of this year's South West Indoor T&F Championships.

 

Edward S particular impressed with three personal bests and took home a gold and silver medal from his three events. Edward claimed second in the under-13s boys high jump with 1.30, followed by coming home in fourth after finishing in a wonderful time of 30.83 seconds in the 200m before taking first place in the shot put after a throw of 5.04m.  

 

Like Edward, Serena C picked up personal bests in all her under-13s girls events. She picked up a bronze medal with 3.59m in long jump before going one better in the high jump, where she jumped 1.15m.

 

Martha H took home silver in the under-15s girls 200m with a fantastic time of 28.05 seconds followed by coming home in a respectful six in the long jump with 4.08m.

 

Scarlett OD got personal best in both events after finishing ninth in the under-15s girls 200m in a time of 32.94 seconds and followed this up by going one better in the long jump with 3.31m.

 

George L threw a magnificent 15.01m to pick up gold in the under-17s men shot put, while teammate Conor H took home bronze with a superb 9.96m. He also claimed two silvers in both the under-17s men 400m, in 57.09 seconds, and high jump with a personal best of 1.70m.

 

Izzy T finished in sixth and fifth in under-17s women's 200m and 300m in 28.28 seconds and 47.57 seconds respectively.

 

There were two more medals for Ellis S, in the under-17s women triple jump with 9.38m to claim silver, and Ruby D, in the women's high jump with gold after a personal best score of 1.62m.

Day Two of the Championships is set to take place in the New Year, with 20 members from NSAC already signed up.
