Nailsea & Backwell were blown away in their latest Counties 1 Tribute Western North encounter after they were beaten 50-12 at Longlevens on Saturday.

The Ravens, who made eight changes from last week's win against Burnham-on-Sea, defended admirably the wave of attack from the hosts.

But Longlevens scored five tries before half-time, through Jack Beck, Stephen Phillips, Jake Fox, Jack Cuthbert and Cameron Jones, to go into the break 36-0 ahead and secure a bonus point.

The second half was much more competitive, with Longlevens tired from their first half dominance, as Charlie Cox drove over for the Ravens first try, which was only what his tireless effort deserved, before  former Saracens centre Thomas Griffiths got one back for the hosts.

Joe Collins added a second for the visitors after good play and converted by Adam Grafton.

But Fox scored again to put the icing on the cake for Longlevens, as the Ravens fell to their first away defeat of the season in Gloucester.

Coach Tony Hill said “we try not to get too carried away when we win and similarly try not to get too down when we lose.

"We played a good side today. Sometimes you have to accept that and move on to next week.”

The Ravens welcome Midsomer Norton to West End Lane this Saturday at 2:30pm.
