Harvey Lathrope has been crowned double champion in the 140 and 160 after a superb display at the Rich Energy British Mini Bikes Championship in Round Eight at Clay Pigeon recently.

On Saturday Lathrope qualified for position four in the 190, position two in the in the 140 and position one in the 160.

On Sunday, in race one of the 190, Lathrope got off to decent start after pushing Phil Dickens as hard as he could to cross the line in third.

In the second race Lathrope got off to a good start and moved into second on the second lap.

Lathrope was overtaken and dropped back to third but on lap three he got back up to second and was right on the back wheel of first place.

However, Lathrope didn’t have enough to make a move and on lap seven he got overtaken again and settled for third.

The third race never took place as the rain came down and issues with water in the carb saw the bike stalled and didn’t make the start.

In the first 160 race Lathrope got off to a good start and held first, where he kept good pace and slowly pulled the lead until the chequered flag.

The second race saw Lathrope got off to a good start again and started pulling away to build a gap of four seconds.

But on lap five Lathrope lost the front and crashed out.

In the third race Lathrope started from the back in ninth because of his crash in the previous race.

By the end of the first lap Lathrope was in first place.

However, on lap five, Lathrope started having problems with the bike, which was spluttering water again in the carb.

Lathrope kept the revs up but for a lap and a half the bike was difficult to ride and even pulled to the side of the track.

In the end Lathrope revved the bike, which cleared up as he slowly closed the gap to first position lap by lap and on lap 10 he took the lead which he held to the line.

In the first 140 race Lathrope got a good start off the line and lead from start to finish.

Another good race followed as Lathrope managed to take the chequered flag in first.

In the final race Lathrope got a good start and built a good lead to take the flag.
