A rider from Portishead has qualified to represent the United Kingdom at the FIMMiniGP World Finals this month.

The Championship is made up of the top two riders from 16 participating countries including Australia, Spain, India, Italy and United States of America.

Thorley Trevorrow has fought hard all through the year in a very competitive field of riders from across the UK. The Championship is open to riders aged between 10 and 14-years-old and at the age of 10- Trevorrow has done exceptionally well to qualify, especially in his first year riding the 160cc Ohvale motorbike.

All riders will travel to race at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, Spain, alongside the last round of the 2022 MotoGP championship.

The Championship gets underway today (Wednesday) with practice and qualifying, folllowed by the race tomorrow.

Due to his success in the 110cc competition last year, Trevorrow was fortunate enough to be invited to become part of KY-JAX racing team and has rode under their colours and guidance this season.

The hard work has not just been on the track, but off it as Trevorrow has been attending the Portishead Youth Exercise Centre at Kestrel Court.

Under Ben Pullen and Jack Steven, Trevorrow has been put through his paces, helping him with some strength training and teaching him some pre race exercises that help with not just his physical but mental attitude towards his racing.

Father Gideon praised Thorley's determination and desire and says he is full of admiration of the young rider.

"I am so proud of Thorley's hard work this year, he has not only developed as a rider but is starting to understand how the dynamics of the bike work and is able to provide feedback to me on how to make the bike faster and more suitable to him as a rider."

The family would like to thank Fixit motorcycle mechanics for their support and help with Trevorrow's racing and Mike Neillans and Simon Lynn for their continued support.

If there are any individuals or businesses that would like to help Trevorrow to progress there are several sponsorship opportunities for the season ahead.
