Clevedon Ladies enjoyed their biggest win for many seasons inflicting a heavy defeat on their hosts with an impressive 14 goals.

The visitors set about dismantling the home defence early on and Anna Barzotelli set them on their way with the opening goal. Keziah Douglas made it two, before OBs pulled a goal back.

Daisy Lacey restored the two-goal advantage before the home side scored a second, Lacey made it four, while Janice Cumming in the Clevedon goal made a smart save to send the visitors into the break with a 4-2 advantage.

After the break, Clevedon took complete control of the game, delightful hockey with slick passing exposed the gaps in the home defence which Clevedon took full advantage of.

Goals came in twos, Caitlin Meredith continued her impressive season with five and six, Beth Barzotelli was rewarded for her enterprising play with seven and eight, Ella Davey’s great positioning yielded nine and 10.

The Clevedon keeper came off midway through the half giving the visitors 11 outfield players, with Nicky Warburton and Douglas taking control of the visiting defence.

Lacey and Beth Barzotelli completed their hat-tricks scoring goals 11 and 12 before Amy Dewfall, so long the provider completed the scoring with 13 and 14.

Clevedon’s next and final game of the league programme is a re-arranged fixture on April 7 away to Keynsham.
