North Somerset Athletics Club had another successful day, this time at the English Championships at Sheffield recently.

A long drive was made worthwhile for Rosa F who secured a bronze medal in the under-17 girls' triple jump.

A personal best of 11.45m, an increase of 53cm, ensures Rosa is number one in the country for a first year under-17 athlete, and fourth overall.

Rosa's jump was also an club record, which is sure to be extended into the summer.

Missing out on a bronze medal by just 37cms, George L broke his own shot put record with a massive 13.68m with the 5kg weight.

Like Rosa, George is ranked number one amongst the first year under-17 athletes, and fourth in the UK overall.

Sam H is NSAC’s fastest-ever 800 metre runner, and he beat his previous indoor personal best to finish fifth overall.

Having won his heat in 1min 58.37secs, hopes were high for a finish on the podium, but it was not to be this time as he came home in 2:02.76.
