Four of the five original Spice Girls will take on Bristol in their six-stop UK tour.
Emma Bunton, Mel Brown, Melanie Chisholm and Geri Horner, along with fifth original member Victoria Beckham, helped revolutionise the 1990s pop scene.
The history-making, best-selling female group are bringing girl power back in full force as they reunite on stage for the first time since the London 2012 Olympics – where they performed some of their biggest hits during the opening ceremony.
After their iconic 1996 debut, Wannabe, topped the charts in 37 countries, their debut album Spice went on to sell more than 31 million copied worldwide, becoming the best-selling album of all time by a female group.
The girls have gone on to sell more than 85 million records, releasing three studio albums and 13 singles.
The girls broke onto the music scene at a time when alternative rock, hip-hop and R&B dominated global music charts, making way for the likes of Hanson, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and NSYNC to also rise to pop fame.
The Spice Girls were also credited for paving the way for future girl groups like All Saints, B*Witched, Atomic Kitten, Girls Aloud and Sugababes.
They have also won a host of awards including a BRIT Award for Outstanding Contribution to British Music.
Emma said: “It is time to spice things up all over again. I cannot wait to perform to our forever-supporting fans and a whole new spice generation.”
Mel C said: “Reminiscing with the girls about how much fun we had made me feel like it was the right time to do it all over again.”
Scary, Baby, Ginger and Sporty Spice will be at it again performing their best hits including Spice Up Your Life, Wannabe, 2 Become 1 and Viva Forever.
Victoria will not be joining the girls on tour due to work commitments but is said to be there in spirit.
The Spice Girls, supported by Jess Glynne, will be at Bristol’s Ashton Gate Stadium, in Ashton Road, on July 10. The time will be released in due course.
