A Wraxall zoo farm has been rewarded for its efforts in sustainable tourism.

Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm, in Clevedon Road, took home a silver sustainability award at the South West Tourism Awards.

The latest gong follows on from its success of winning the top prize for sustainability at the Bristol, Bath and Somerset Tourism Awards last year and gold at the Green Tourism Business Scheme.

The most recent sustainable initiative at the attraction saw the introduction of compostable packaging including compostable coffee cups, lids, takeaway boxes and straws to ensure none of its waste ends up in landfill sites.

The zoo’s owner, Anthony Bush, is delighted with the recognition.

He said: “We are so pleased to accept this award.

“It’s great to see our sustainable efforts being realised.

“We plan to continue to build on this success and improve our sustainable practises even more in 2018.”
