Cupcakes made by a Portishead baker were highly commended at the National Cupcake Championships.

Zoe Walker who runs the CupCake Bakery, in Phoenix Way, was one of 60 bakers chosen to attend the finals on September 14.

Zoe entered a range of cakes based on Paddington bear which the judges awarded second place in the children’s cupcakes category.

The cakes were made of a chocolate sponge with a marmalade core and orange icing.

The CupCake Bakery has been trading for six years.

Zoe said: “To have my cupcakes acknowledged by a national competition is a great accolade.”
