A VIDEO criticising council decisions affecting Portishead has been posted online.

The clip has been uploaded to YouTube by an anonymous user and has been viewed more than 900 times, prompting a string of comments about its content.

Entitled Portishead in Boom, the four-minute clip highlights many of the issues affecting Portishead including graffiti, pubs closing, a lack of school places, traffic congestion and planning issues, including schemes that have been allowed to go ahead on some of the town’s High Street farms.

Opposition to a skatepark at the Lake Grounds, the saga of changes made at the Cabstand junction, a cut in funding for flower displays in the town and the fact volunteers had to save the outdoor pool from closure are also raised.

North Somerset Council’s decision to buy the Clevedon Castlewood offices, increase allowances and make cuts to services also feature.

North Somerset councillors David Pasley, Elfan Ap Rees and Nigel Ashton are also criticised.

North Somerset Council has now reported the film to YouTube to consider whether it should remain on the site.
