Youth worker’s walk completed

A YOUTH worker has raised more than 4,000 for the youth centre he has dedicated the past 20 years to.

Alan Rowe, a full-time youth worker at Portishead Youth Centre, and his wife Lin completed a 166-mile sponsored walk from the Lake District to Fort William in Scotland.

The money raised will support the final phase of redevelopment at the Harbour Road centre.

It will be donated to the Angel Appeal, which aims to raise the final 60,000 of the development’s 1million target. This last phase involves furnishings and upgrading equipment for the facility which is expected to open in September.
