YOUNGSTERS have kicked off a new inter youth club football competition at Portishead Youth Centre.
Youth club teams across North Somerset are taking part in a five-a-side tournament in the hope of winning the newly launched Lions Cup.
The event was organised by Kim Dodd, assistant manager at Portishead Youth Centre, after a surge in interest in the sport from youth club members.
The Lions Clubs of Portishead, Yeo Valley and Nailsea have supported the venture by donating shirts, medals and the Lions Cup trophy, which they hope will be played for each year.
The first match took place between Portishead and Yatton youth clubs.
