YOUNG people in Backwell can carry on having fun at the village youth club after it reopened on Monday under new management.
The club, at the recreation ground in Rodney Road, will now be open Monday and Thursday evenings with sessions being ran by youth organisation, Rainbow.
It has been commissioned to carry out the work by Backwell Youth Club Management Committee, which has received �5,000 from Backwell Parish Council and �4,650 from North Somerset Council towards the work.
The unitary authority pulled the plug on funding for youth clubs at the end of last month due to major spending cuts, resulting in communities being asked to step forward and organise their own youth provision.
The Backwell management committee is seeking new members who can help manage the facility. Anyone interested can just turn up on a Monday or Thursday from 7pm.
